Trends For 2019
TGIF!
Would you believe it that fashion is already showing spring of 2019 glamour trends! It's really fun and inspiring to keep up with fashion as fashion and interior design have a great working relationship.
Bright, Rich Colors
By adding the trending bright, rich jewel tones with an edge to your space, think about the art work displayed in the hallways, rugs in the entryway, and drapes in the living room; the many different details in your home can become their own fashion accessory to the space. Fashion is using pops of bright rich colors and referencing artists through the years from futurism and the early 90's geometric Memphis pattern.
Vintage Florals
Florals in spring aren't necessary a surprise, but with fashion it's about bold and colorful fabrics to show off those vintage floral patterns. With bold and rich colors anticipated for interior design, I would expect to see a variety of floral patterns from fabrics to wallpaper showcasing floral design with vintage color and pattern as well as adding a pop to the colors.
Fringe Detail
Passementerie is predicted to make it's way around once again. You don't have to think of this as just tassels on drapes, but also on fabric on chairs and pillows.
By definition: passementerie - an ornamental edging or trimming (such as tassels) made of braid, cord, gimp, beading, or metallic thread.
The "less is more" trend has been enjoyed for a long time, but now, modern interpretations of trims, bullion fringe and tie-backs will be in. Vibrant color combinations and unusual shapes will make passementerie 'hip' again." ~Corey Damen Jenkins of Corey Damen Jenkins & Associates
I think it's safe to say 2019 just might bring those individual statement colors and pieces back into play. It's going to be an artistic year of playful shapes, colors and style!
